Valtellina is famous for its wines and the places where they are born, the terraced vineyards carved out on the Rhaetian side of the valley, the sunniest. The Via dei Terrazzamenti is an attractive mid-mountain trekking route that connects the city of Sondrio with Morbegno and Tirano through beautiful paths through the vineyards.
The departure of the Via dei Terrazzamenti we recommend is in Berbenno di Valtellina (about a 20-minute drive from the farmhouse), the arrival is in Chiuro or, for longer excursions, in Tirano. The tour of Valtellina’s vineyards can be done on foot or by bike, choosing from several Wine Routes that allow you to visit the production area of a specific quality of Valtellina wine while passing through it:
