Larian villas and architectural wonders: what to see on Lake Como

Lake Como attracts millions of tourists from all over the world all year round thanks to its natural beauty and the artistic heritage it offers visitors. An agritourism stay at La Fiorida is an ideal starting point for exploring the Larian treasures kept in the splendid villages that line the waters of the lake, on either shore.

Discover the most important places to visit on Lake Como from Valtellina, with day trips and scenic ferry rides.

Abbey of San Nicolò in Piona

Among the beautiful historic works of art on the shores of Lake Como, the closest to the farmhouse is the Abbey of St. Nicholas in Piona, a half-hour drive away, where Benedictine monks lovingly tend the gardens and work the land, creating excellent liqueurs, honey, medicinal herbs and cosmetic creams.

Villa Carlotta in Tremezzo

On the opposite shore of Lake Como, the western shore, we find in Tremezzo, a 45-minute drive away, Villa Carlotta, a large and striking 17th-century villa with an indoor museum and eight hectares of botanical garden to visit, overlooking the Lake Como waters.

Villa del Balbianello in Lenno

A little further down, in Lenno, is the Villa del Balbianello, a late 18th-century villa overlooking the lake with a panoramic terraced garden to visit and admire in all its lush beauty.

Villa Melzi in Bellagio

Slightly further away, in Bellagio (1 hr 15 min drive from La Fiorida), but unique is Villa Melzi, considered the most beautiful villa on Lake Como, with enchanting gardens that deserve a thorough visit.
