Val Gerola and Valtellina Orobie Park
One of the most beautiful valleys in the Valtellina Alps

Val Gerola is an alpine paradise half an hour’s drive from La Fiorida agritourism: simply drive 14 km by road (perfect in any season) from Morbegno to reach Gerola Alta and the hamlets of Fenile and Pescegallo. Valgerola is a destination for skiers in winter to ski in the lower Valtellina, while during the rest of the year it is the ideal place to go hiking and discover authentic treasures of past eras, between nature and culture.
What to do and what to see in Val Gerola
Walking the few kilometers that separate Gerola Alta from Pescegallo, one immediately senses that one is in wild territory off the beaten path of mass tourism. Here you feel the slowness of time and the exclusive luxury of walking on paths surrounded by towering, centuries-old pine and fir trees.
You can travel to Val Gerola for a cultural visit to Valtellina, or arrange a hike to one of the beautiful high mountain alpine lakes, where you can meet cows and goats in the alpine pastures and even the majestic ibex.
The Gerola Valley’s hiking trails are well-marked, and experienced hikers can organize their preferred itinerary entirely on their own, although a walk with a mountain guide or mid-mountain guide can provide an unforgettable experience, giving an opportunity to learn about the plants and animals encountered along the way.
