LA FIORIDA: A SUSTAINABLE REALITY
La Fiorida produces clean and renewable energy through the use of solar panels and in particular wood chips, which allows you to use the sawmill waste to produce heat. With our commitment, even in small daily actions, we do our best to respect the environment and to merge with the landscape itself.Since the foundation of the company we made many changes to improve the environmental sustainability, beginning with:
– Short spinneret: to buy directly from producers does not only mean to circumvent the approved production, but also to establish new social relationships, to exchange opinions and points of view, to be part of a system. Looking at the face of someone who has made the cheese we are buying from the milk of his own animals is more of guarantee seals.
– Thermal energy: 100% sawmill waste, consumption 3000 mc. per year. Through the use of wood chips (waste of sawmills located in the area) we can heat water for the entire building.
– Power Generation: via the solar panels placed on the roof of the stables of the cows we can cover 20% of the needs of the company.
Moreover, with the experience earned during these years, we have tried to think about the welfare of animals, especially cows. The amount of milk from our cows decreased over time to allow them to lead a better life without too much physical effort.
